It's always rewarding to raise money for a good cause, and this summer, we have our sights set on making a $10,000 donation to Canine Companions for Independence, a national non-profit that provides highly trained assistance dogs to individuals with disabilities.
We've dubbed it "Woof-A-Thon 2007," and we're pledging a matching $5,000 donation when generous clients like you help us raise the initial $5,000. A donation of $25 or more earns you entry into a monthly drawing for prizes, including four Cubs tickets (each month). With your help, I'll soon be signing that check.
CCI breeds, raises and trains its assistance dogs to perform such tasks as pulling a wheelchair, retrieving dropped objects, opening doors and drawers, flipping light switches and activating automatic doors. For the recipients, their companion dogs are key to their independence and freedom.
We make it easy to donate while you're in for service, but even if you're not due for maintenance, please consider making a donation to CCI.
